Semester und Segments.

A semester is defined as a period with a recurrent workflow. The workflow is represented by segments.

Instiutions are thinking of semesters in terms like "Vorlesungszeit" or "Prüfungszeit". Segments are just periods related organisational to the time frame of a semester.

Semester​

Semester are defined by its

  • name, i.e. "SoSe 2026"
  • date of begin
  • date of end

Segments​

Segments are defined by its

  • name, i.e. "SoSe 2026"
  • date of begin
  • date of end

For generating dates segments may be flaged as "holiday".

Segments can be defined on instiution level ("hochschulweit") and organiser level ("fakultätsweit").
